My Story
My name is Liliana, and this is me who is behind Handmade 4U. Let me take you back to where it all began, to a time before my life took an unexpected turn.
Before 2018, I was a whirlwind of activity, running my own business in a completely different field. My days were filled with meetings, driving long distances, and pursuing my passion for music and education. I played guitar, sang in a choir, and was on the path to becoming a teacher. Life was bustling, vibrant, and full of promise.
Then, everything changed. A sudden bout of encephalitis brought my world crashing down. Overnight, I found myself grappling with a neurological condition that left me sensitive to light and noise, among other symptoms. My once bustling life ground to a halt as my body and mind struggled to cope with the new reality.
It took me two years to come to terms with my condition and accept the limitations it imposed on me. But even in the midst of darkness, a flicker of creativity remained. I turned to small, manageable projects like jigsaw puzzles, diamond painting, and simple card making as a way to occupy my mind and hands.
Despite the challenges, I found solace and purpose in creating. Each piece became a labor of love, a testament to my resilience and determination. And when I discovered the art of shadow boxes and light-up cards, something inside me sparked. I knew I had found my calling.
With each intricate design and delicate detail, I poured my heart and soul into my creations. And when I saw the joy and wonder on the faces of my customers, it affirmed that I was on the right path. Whether it was a bespoke frame or a personalized card, I knew that I was making a difference, one handmade piece at a time.
But as time passed, new challenges emerged. The world around me shifted, and I found myself navigating uncharted territory. It wasn’t easy, but I refused to let adversity dim my light. Instead, I embraced the opportunity to reinvent myself and my craft.
As I embarked on this new chapter, I knew that change was inevitable. But amidst the uncertainty, one thing remained constant – my unwavering commitment to bringing joy, uniqueness, and something special to each and every person I encountered.
So, as I stand here today, I invite you to join me on this journey. Together, let’s rediscover the magic of handmade creations and celebrate the power of resilience, creativity, and community. Welcome to Handmade 4U – where every piece tells a story, and every story is worth telling.
