HOW DOES IT WORK
If you are new and unsure or a regular wanting a reminder, here’s more information and tips for success in our lovely friendly market:
(Next pop up event starts 1st August. No selling posts will be approved until then).
1. Post a nice clear picture of what you’re selling, add description, price, postage cost, and how to pay, eg, PayPal. If it’s handmade to order, please let people know how long it will take to make.
2. If you have a link to buy your product on mightie makers, etsy, folksy, mademe, numonday, facebook page, etc, feel free to post that for an easy sale to save retyping all info. You are encouraged to post your social media and shop links on every post. We want to help you succeed!
3. You are permitted to just post links / share into the group BUT this is unlikely to get you sales and Facebook often rejects these posts as spam. People want to see what they are buying and are highly unlikely to click a long spammy looking url. Albums, lives, videos, etc. are all fine, too.
4. I market this event lots across social media to our 18k audience, on physical flyers, and on live radio and in videos BUT I cannot sell for you all. You need to invite people to the group, interact with customers, and share the marketing materials provided on your socials. The more we all do this, the better it is for everyone. Follow our socials to see if we share your creations with our thousands of followers. We provide free digital marketing for you to use.
5. If you see something you like, please leave a nice comment or invite and tag someone you know who will love it. If everyone does this, everyone feels good and gets more exposure and more potential sales.
6. Please only post items for sale if you have paid for your virtual stall. We don’t use stall numbers as it’s just something else to remember but I have a list of everyone’s payments. Please don’t be offended if I check with you the name you paid with if you are selling as a business name etc it’s only fair if everyone pays.
Remember, I take zero for all the work I do. All proceeds go to Kindness Community CIC to help people struggling with their physical or mental health.
I have many years of personal experience battling my own physical and mental health, so I want to help others who are struggling too.
7. Post your item and price. 1st person to agree to buy gets the item and you send them payment info etc, get their address and post it to them (you can offer local collection too but be aware most people in the group will be from all over the UK and beyond).
8. We take no commission or extra listing fees per item, so you keep whatever you make. Be aware that PayPal/ stripe/ etsy, etc, will still take their fees for processing payments.
9. All sales are between buyers and sellers. If you have questions about items, please get all details before purchasing. Sellers are expected to follow all laws and safety regulations applicable to their business eg regarding copyright, trademark, UKCA testing on any toys, food hygiene and council registration for sweets/cakes, CLP for candles and CPSR for cosmetics/ bath and body products. By signing up, you agree to follow these rules as they keep everyone safe. If you sell anything with play value, we will need to see your UKCA declaration of conformity for each item.
10. Be kind, support each other, follow each other on socials, etc, and have fun!
Once you’ve paid, you can immediately do an introduction post with photos and all your social media links here Market for Kindness Community to entice new customers and start sharing the free marketing images provided.
Thanks for your interest and support.
We hope to see you there!

I love this market since it started few years ago. Laura does so much of marketing and advertising on social media and local radio to help spread the word about the market before it starts and during the market. She promoted the sellers too. Friendly atmosphere, although it is online, lots of life in it. I love it.

I have been taking part in this market since it began a few years ago, I have only missed a couple of them, and it is such a lovely one to be a part of. LOTS of friendly customers in the group, I have picked up several repeat customers from there that come back to shop with me even when the market is not on which has been super appreciated. Also all the other stall holders are super kind and supportive which can make such a difference. Laura works so hard on marketing with leaflets going out on all kindness kits, with events that she does for Kindness community and regular features on radio. No other online market host I have ever known works as hard as she does to get publicity and bring customers in. As a disabled person myself who can no longer do face-to-face events this is an absolute lifeline for me to help get my products seen and sold, I would honestly highly recommend taking part!

Taking part as a customer and seller in the online Kindness Community Craft Market has been such a heartwarming experience. Laura, who runs it all voluntarily, pours so much love, time, and energy into creating a place that’s supportive for small businesses like mine, it is also rooted in a kindness – raising donations to send free mental health packs around the world to people who need a reminder that they matter and are not alone.

I’ve just booked my market stall for August, and I’m so excited! Every time I’ve joined, I’ve noticed a lovely boost in customers and sales — but more than the happy dances, I’ve felt seen, supported, and part of something truly special. The market is filled with the kindest people, and there’s a genuine sense of community that makes you feel like you belong.

It’s also thankfully super flexible – being able to post in the group at any time, as much as I want, means I can work around my health conditions without pressure. And Laura doesn’t just run things behind the scenes, she champions every single one of us, even getting us featured on radio to help boost visibility and sales!

Laura is one of those rare souls who makes the world brighter for everyone around her. I’m so grateful to be part of this kindness community market, and I can’t wait to take part again 💛

First review on this site but not my first review of Laura’s fab marketplace! Even though I only booked a stall at the last minute it was a good opportunity to see what’s on offer and everyone is a friendly bunch. Even if I don’t sell anything, I’m happy to see the stall fee as a donation! Laura puts so much of her own time, energy and herself into running these markets as well as all the endless stuff she does to support kindness xx

Looking forward to being back for the next market in February, this one is always brimming with lovely customers and I have not failed to get a happy dance in any of these markets yet. If you are a maker then get booked in and help a very good cause with your stall fee as well get your makes in front of buyers, win/win!!

    Welcome to My Shop

    My Story

I had always struggled with my mental health and joint hypermobility syndrome, but I had a successful career in education and a full social life. Then life pulled the rug from under me.

I married my amazing hubby in 2012 and two weeks later I could barely walk. I was in chronic pain and experiencing many other symptoms. I was so tired I could barely keep my eyes open. I also had myoclonic jerks, vocal tics, brain fog, and more.

Six weeks later, instead of swimming with dolphins in Mexico on our Caribbean honeymoon, I was admitted to hospital. I was eventually diagnosed with an incurable rare illness called Functional Neurological Disorder.

I was housebound for the first couple of years before finally agreeing to get a mobility scooter to regain some independence, and a dog to keep me company. They both made a massive difference.

Months in hospital failed to help and I now accept that this is as good as I am going to get, so I try to make the most of every day.

In 2020 I set up Kindness Community, wanting to make the world a kinder place for everyone. This shop fundraises to send mental health packs to people all over the world. We also send kindness kits - gifts of love through the letterbox - to people having a tough time in the UK. That could be due to chronic illness, disability, being sectioned, experiencing domestic abuse or bullying, house fires, bereavement, or anything else. We do not judge, we simply help as many people as possible.

Everything you buy in this shop supports that work. One hundred percent of proceeds go to Kindness Community CIC to help people struggling with their physical or mental health. I also run a support group in Dartford to help people like me.

I have since been diagnosed with Chronic Pain Syndrome, had a heart operation, and more recently been diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome after nine months of going from bed to sofa and barely being able to stay upright long enough to leave the house for a coffee.

I have managed to continue sending the mental health packs and kindness kits and running the support group, with help from my mum and best friends.

I have now built a community of nearly 8,000 people all over the world and run a fundraising online market with around 6,000 customers, all supporting people having a tough time.
