My Story
Hello there, and thank you for stopping to read about me.
I am ieva (with i, not L) from Audley in Staffordshire. I work with British sheep wool, transforming it from raw, straight from the sheep’s back fleece, to felted, woven and stitched things. Reasons for choosing wool are twofold. I immensely enjoy the feel and the look of wool in any of its transformation stages. And secondly, I see it as one of the most sustainable and circular life materials. I have to mention that a few years back, I was still doing ceramics – making and teaching.
10 years ago, my youngest (22) daughter tragically died. Since then, it’s been a very bumpy road towards having at least some sense of normality. This year, at the age of 54, I have been diagnosed as having Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
I avoid using AI for my creative work and writing, and just in general. They use way too much energy and water, and that’s before even mentioning breaching copyrights.
Thanks again for stopping by
